Chris & Julia's Sunday Night Takeaway drew shocking ratings for Channel 10 throughout its first season.

But host Dr. Chris Brown says he is confident the show's audience will grow once viewers get used to the format. 

'It's the first time Australia has had a live variety TV show since Hey Hey It's Saturday,' he told TV Week. 'It just takes people a while to get back into the feeling of it and to understand what it's all about.'
