She suffered from low self-esteem and anxiety after starring in The Biggest Loser in 2006.
But these days, Fiona Falkiner is brimming with confidence as a successful plus-size model.
On Saturday, the 36-year-old revealed in a column for news.com.au how she got into the industry - and how 'humiliating' her first shoot was.
Haunting: On Saturday Fiona Falkiner (pictured) revealed how she got her break in plus-sized modelling and opened up about one of her first casting shoots being 'humiliating'
'One day I was at the gym and I got a tap on the shoulder, a lady said she would have me modelling full-time within a year,' she wrote.
Fiona, who announced she was engaged to Channel Nine reporter Hayley Willis this week, said her haunting experience came when she tried out for a shapewear shoot.
'I was the only "plus-size model" in the room. I was so embarrassed but finally I got the stupid thing (Lycra clothing) on,' she said.
