Game Of Thrones final season: Episode 3 set to be the LONGEST EVER

Game Of Thrones viewers are no strangers to long episodes.

But the forthcoming third episode of the HBO series, set to air Sunday night, will be the longest one yet. 

According to the fantasy show's official IMDb page, the fourth last chapter of the TV series, which promises to cover the epic Battle of Winterfell, clocks in at a whopping 1 hour 22 mins.

Previously, the longest-running episode had been the Season 7 finale, titled The Dragon and the Wolf.  

Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the Battle of Winterfell, which will see many of the HBO show's lead characters go head-to-head against the White Walkers.

But a fan theory reported by Buzzfeed on Tuesday suggests that the ominous Night King won't actually be at the fight, which takes place in the third episode, as he has other plans in mind.

The eighth season's second episode ended with the undead army arriving outside the ancestral home of the Stark family, but their leader was nowhere to be seen.

And some fans have now suggested that this is because the Night King is actually on his way to King's Landing to take the Iron Throne.

The Night King has also yet to make his presence known since killing and taking Daenerys Targaryen's third
