Low rating Bachelor in Paradise finale fizzes out as viewers switch off en masse

This year's season of Bachelor in Paradise could have been retitled Bachelor in Ghetto, given its disastrous ratings.

And if producers were hoping for a late renaissance in viewer numbers for the show's grand finale on Thursday night, they were in for a shock.

As reported by TV Tonight on Friday, Bachelor in Paradise concluded with 454,000 viewers, and just 417,000 for its Tell-All reunion.

The program was roundly beaten by MasterChef, which topped the entertainment shows for the evening at 680,000 viewers.

Taking primary share numbers into account, Ten finished the night in third place, behind Seven and Nine overall.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Network Ten for comment.

Network 10 were forced to push Bachelor In Paradise to a later time slot in April, running the reality show at 8.40pm instead of the stronger prime time slot of 7.30pm.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the change was to accommodate the start of the new season of MasterChef.

However, Bachelor in Paradise was no match for the popular cooking show.
