Sonic The Hedgehog set to get a makeover for his upcoming movie after fans ...

He's part of a wave of live-action remakes and video game-inspired films.

But Sonic The Hedgehog film is going to need a major overhaul before he hits movie screens in November.

The movie's director, Jeff Fowler, took to Twitter on Thursday to announce the character would be redesigned following the online outcry.

'Thank you for the support. And the criticism,' he began. 'The message is loud and clear...' 

'You aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be...' he concluded, adding the hashtags #sonicmovie and #gottafixfast.
