Ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman says he was ’really stupid’ to ever think his marriage to teenager Mandy Smith when he was 52 would work Wyman has now opened up on his regret on marrying the beauty who was 34 years his senior in a new documentary The Quiet One debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival The Rolling Stone guitarist met Mandy Smith when she was 13 They were married for two years before divorcing  Mandy later claimed they first engaged in sex when she was only 14

Bill Wyman, 82, has opened up on his regret of marrying Mandy Smith because of their 34 year age gap.

The rock and roll legend tied the knot with the beauty in 1989, when she was just 18 and he was 52.  

The Rolling Stones legend made the confession in the documentary The Quiet One, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday night.

In the film, Wyman defends his relationship with her ex teenage wife by sharing: 'It was from the heart. It wasn’t lust, which people were seeing it as.' 

Reflecting on the decision to marry the young blonde, he added: 'I was really stupid to ever think it could possibly work. She was too young. I felt she had to go out and see life for a bit.'
