David Tennant's son Ty made his television debut on Casualty on Saturday night which made his mum Georgia 'so proud'.

The famous offspring, 17, took on the role of patient Aaron at Holby City Hospital as Ty followed in the footsteps of his famous parents into the acting industry.

In a gushing tweet, Georgia revealed she was 'so proud' of Ty as she made a joke about her own character's shock death in 2009 in the same BBC One hospital show.

She said: 'I am so proud of #tytennant tonight in @BBCOne #Casualty. He was so good they didn’t feel the need to crush him to death in a lift shaft... #bitternotbitter #deadkitten @TristanGemmill.'

The actress played Heather Whitefield but the doctor had a nasty end when she was crushed to death in a lift shaft in stomach-churning scenes in September 2009.
