The Perfect Date's Laura Marano on reuniting with Noah Centineo

Actress Laura Marano and actor Noah Cinteno, Netflix’s newest on-screen lovebirds in The Perfect Date, once played teenage crushes on Disney’s Austin & Ally in 2012.

And while the pair hadn’t seen each other since filming the children's show seven years ago, their chemistry in the romantic comedy movie is undeniable.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Friday, American actress Laura, 23, revealed Noah (who has skyrocketed in popularity thanks to two other recent Netflix rom-coms) was ‘still the same lovely, wonderful person’ she worked with before his big break.

Noah, 22, has been the star of Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess Is A Loser, both released in 2018.

Both stars have acted since they were children, with Laura acting since she was eight and scoring her breakout role on Disney’s Austin & Ally between 2011 and 2016 (aged 15 to 20) as Ally Dawson.

‘It was really nice that we felt so comfortable with each other right way - we definitely got closer on the movie,’ the Lady Bird star said.

Speaking of how the pair have remained grounded despite their success in the industry, Laura simply said: ‘It comes down to family, we both have really strong and supportive families and it's so helpful, they have kind of raised us both to hopefully surround ourselves with people that continue that pattern.’
