Idris Elba and new wife Sabrina Dhowre were inseparable on Monday evening as they followed their first ever Met Gala with their first ever Met Gala after-party.

The couple, who recently exchanged vows in Morocco, were in high spirits as they arrived at New York's Standard Hotel for the star-studded event.

Trading her shimmering rose gold gown for a fringed black evening dress, Sabrina, 29, caught the eye as they made their way inside.

With blood red lipstick adding a vibrant splash of colour, the model looked stunning during her first major event since marrying Idris.

Holding his wife's hand, the Luther star, 46, looked comparatively casual in a black T-shirt and matching jeans, teamed with a distinctive gold necklace.

Evidently delighted to be attending the event, the couple were seen enjoying a playful moment in the back of their chauffeur driven car.

Earlier that night Idris and Sabrina looked happier than ever as they attended the star-studded Met Gala.

Sabrina sported curly candyfloss tresses for the stunning outing as she poured her toned frame in a shimmering rose gold gown.

The low-cut gown flashed her ample assets before cinching in at her toned waist.

The sequinned gown flowed into a pearlescent floor-length skirt with a split which teased her toned legs.

Adding extra drama to the look, the dress came with a blush pink tulle train that billowed out behind the beauty.

Her make-up look was kept soft and radiant with metallic shadow and pink gloss.

The Wire star Idris looked hunky in a blue, green and black ornately patterned blazer with silk panels.

He wore this over a black fitted shirt and silk bow tie, paired with matching trousers and patent leather shoes.

The pair exchanged vows at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh surrounded by 150 of their nearest and dearest.

Sabrina wore two exquisite dresses by Vera Wang – a Bardot-style gown for the wedding ceremony and a pearl-embroidered number for the reception. Male guests wore black tie.

Her make-up was done by British make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury, while the photos were taken by American celebrity snapper Sean Thomas.

After stunning in her first A-line bardot style gown for the ceremony, Sabrina switched into a pearl embroidered number, while Idris was kitted out in a bespoke Ozwald suit for the swanky reception at the same venue - which has been captured in the first official pictures.

Making it quite the extravagant affair for their family and friends, the pair enjoyed a Moroccan themed dinner the night before at Amanjena, which sits just outside the Red City and is inspired by old Marrakech and 12th-century Menara gardens.

Idris and Sabrina met in Canada, where the former Miss Vancouver is from.

They became acquainted on the set of the 2017 film, The Mountain Between Us.

Speaking about the early days of their relationship, Idris told People Magazine: 'Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special.'

They walked the red carpet together for the first time at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival for the screening of the film Molly's Game which Idris starred in.
