He's ruled the airwaves for four decades.

And Howard Stern took some time away from the microphone and stepped out in style for an appearance on Good Morning America Thursday afternoon in New York. 

The 65-year-old author looked fantastic wearing an all-black ensemble to promote his latest book — Howard Stern Comes Again — where he revealed he thought he was 'going to die' following a cancer scare.

Howard's classic look included a long black John Varvatos double-breasted jacket with brushed brass buttons.

He kept with his monochromatic theme wearing a black shirt and matching slacks as he headed into the studio.

Stern wrapped a scarf around his neck and wore a pair of his signature dark shades over his eyes.

Stern questioned his own mortality and a potential empty throne after a cancer scare landed him in the hospital for a risky surgery in 2017, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
