Line of Duty has made British television history as one of the five most-watched gripping dramas of the decade.
The nail-biting 90-minute special finale hooked an eager TV audience of 12.1million, according to new figures published by Barb.
Bodyguard, who was also written by Line Of Duty's Jed Mercurio, remained unbeatable at the top of the list after it raked in an audience of 14.3million.

Line Of Duty's latest figures include people who recorded the episode and those who watched it up to seven days later.
As well as the 12.1million TV viewers, an additional 600,000 people hoped to find out the truth about H by tuning in on their devices such as laptops and smartphones.
The list is ranked by the highest rated episode.
