The final season of Game of Thrones has proven to be a ratings winner for Foxtel.

Monday night's penultimate episode drew in 1.43 million viewers across Foxtel's pay TV platform and its multiple streaming platforms, according to The Australian.

Around 982,000 people tuned in on Foxtel's Fox Showcase channel alone.

The pop culture phenomenon has proven to be a major drawcard for Foxtel, bringing in its highest ever audience.

And with just one more episode left in the season, those figures are likely to increase for next week's highly anticipated finale.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, TV Blackbox editor Rob McKnight described Monday's episode of Game of Thrones as one of the 'top 10 shows of the day'.
