TV presenter Sally Obermeder's young daughter was rushed to Sydney's children's hospital on Wednesday night.

The seven-year-old required urgent medical attention after she was struck on the head by a fallen shelf in the family's home.

Staying overnight at the hospital as doctors tended to Annabelle, the mother-of-two said the incident occurred while the youngster was cleaning her room.
