Netflix announced that its highly-anticipated series The Dark Crystal: The Age Of Resistance will premiere on August 30.
The streamer also released on Tuesday the first-look images of the fantasy adventure.
The 10-episode series is a prequel to the beloved 1982 film, The Dark Crystal, that was directed by puppeteering legend Jim Hensen and Frank Oz.

Set in the world of Thra many years before the events of the original, the show focuses on three Gelflings.
They discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis' power and then embark on an epic journey to save the world.
Taron Egerton (Kingsmen), Nathalie Emmanuel (Game Of Thrones) and Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) lead the voice cast, as the three Gelfing heroes Rian, Deet and Brea.
Feature film director Louis Leterrier will executive produce the series as well as direct. He is best known for the film Now You See Me
