The couple dated on and off between 2013 and 2014, before Georgia apparently ended the relationship and began dating Matthew's colleague.

In 2016, when it was announced that Georgia was leaving her newsreader role at WIN to become the Bachelorette, Matthew said she was only doing it to boost her 'profile'.
He also told Daily Mail Australia that the pair 'hadn't spoken in months' after she began dating his co-worked just weeks after their break-up.
