Discussing the counselling, Alison continued: 'Of course it was never going to work if Cam wasn't on board, looking at his actions, because otherwise you have no hope. 'But we dove into therapy and we dove into our issues. We were so young, engaged after two and a half months and then we threw ourselves into another country. 'There was so much that we did in those early years that we just didn't settle and it blew apart, but we were still so in love.' He said: '[The show] was massive in America, with millions of people watching it, and very seductive. Suddenly you become attractive to a lot of people, and that was part of it. That was all part of a fabric of problems that I needed to move through. 'For me, what I discovered through counselling and therapy was that I had a very childish need to be liked - which is probably why I ended up in [show] business.' 'I didn't [have friends], I didn't have anyone': Alison went on to admit that her feeling of 'isolation' in America while Cameron was busy with work did not help things. Pictured in 2007 In his blog post for dad website, The Father Hood, in March, Cameron cited alcohol and his work schedule as the main reasons behind his infidelity. He went on to admit the couple briefly separated at the time, writing: 'When I acted out in that way, I didn't really want to be there.' Looking back at that time when they first moved to America, Alison added: 'I didn't [have friends], I didn't have anyone. That was tough, and it was a lot of isolation.' Offering advice!
