Open day: Pete Evans has finally finished construction on his new home in Sydney's eastern suburbs He converted the property into a modernised, structured mansion, boasting four bedrooms and a light, earthy colour scheme. In an interview with Metricon last month, Pete revealed he wanted his new home to feel 'timeless.' 'I always wanted to create a family home. What we were trying to achieve here, and I think what we've managed to do, is inject plenty of light and lots of natural colours and textures,' he told the construction company. Understandably, given his profession, Pete said the kitchen is the house's centrepiece, and he described it as 'the heart of the home.' The kitchen features a butler's pantry, an expansive island bench and floor-to-ceiling windows, meaning it's sun-drenched year-round. There's no TV in the main living room, with Pete and his wife deciding on a technology-free relaxation area instead, and assigning another room for watching movies. 'I am a movie buff so I wanted to create a space where I could make it dark, have good sound and have a big screen. But not in the living room. This area is about connecting and the movie room is about chilling out,' he explained.
