She bravely came out as gay to the public in 2012 on The Project.

And now Magda Szubanski, 58, has spoken candidly about her experience of coming out. 

The Kath and Kim star appears in a new film clip for Seeker Lover Keeper's empowering new single, Let It Out, and said that the song and it's meaningful lyrics really resonated with her.

'Having gone through the whole journey of coming out - not just about sexuality but about who I really am in terms of revealing my beliefs, my morals, my intelligence, my real talents along with my flaws and weaknesses - I've felt like a butterfly shaking off a carapace,' Magda said in an official statement, according to The Australian Women's Weekly.

'I cannot emphasise enough the sense of generous, openhearted empowerment that flows into you when you finally are standing on the solid ground of your authentic self.'
