He was once the king of late night thanks to his ebullient personality and stellar sketch comedy skills.

But now Jimmy Fallon's stint as the host of The Tonight Show may be in danger.

The 44-year-old late night host has seen his behind-the-scenes team shaken up recently in the wake of a ratings challenge from Stephen Colbert, according to Page Six.

Jimmy's producer Katie Hockmeyer departed the show with little publicity shortly after she returned from maternity leave, though she apparently still works for NBC in an unknown role.

A source told Page Six that 'Katie no longer works at the Tonight Show,' but that 'She and Jimmy are still close — he adores her.'

Her departure follows the resignation of longtime showrunner Mike DiCenzo.

The new showrunner, Today veteran Jim Bell, has reportedly been engaged in fierce arguments with executive producer Lorne Michaels, whom he believes is 'stuck in the past.'

On Wednesday, newly-released Nielsen data revealed that CBS' The Late Show With Stephen Colbert had topped The Tonight Show and ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the third year in a row.

However, the loss in the ratings was particularly worrisome for Fallon, as Colbert managed to top him in the ratings for every single broadcast of the season, a first.
