She's not climbing the iconic mountain, but she is getting within reach of its perilous peak.
And Mandy Moore shared some dramatic photos of her trip to the base camp at Mount Everest on Friday.
The 35-year-old actress and singer was making the trek to support The Juniper Fund, a non-profit fighting for the rights of Nepali locals who assist Everest expeditions, often risking injury and even death.

Mandy started her trip on Sunday, and she has been posting incredible images from the trip ever since.
A series of photos posted to Instagram on Tuesday showed the This Is Us star and her fellow hikers as they arrived at the terraced village of Namche.
'I went into this Everest viewing trek relatively blind. Not unprepared, mind you...but I wanted to venture forward into the unknown with an open mind and heart and as free of expectations as possible,' she wrote.
'Once we arrived in Kathmandu and had our de-brief about what the next 10 days of our life we’re going to look like, it became abundantly clear that this experience was going to be one of physical discomfort, personal challenge AND fundamental spiritual growth. Sign me up.
'In addition to living out this bucket list dream, being gently placed in this middle of this extraordinary country of Nepal and bearing witness to the customs and culture of the Sherpa people has been spellbinding. So much to take in, in every way.'

The Candy singer stressed in another post that her group isn't trying to summit Everest — just to reach the more manageable base camp.
'If all goes well, we will have completed what is only 1/6 of the entire trip for someone who actually climbs (8 weeks total).'
By comparison, her journey to the base camp will take less than two weeks.
Mandy and her companions stopped in the village for two days to acclimate to the altitude before heading up to the camp.
