But that hasn't stopped comedian Tom Gleeson, 44, from scooping up a nomination for TV Week's Logie Awards. Tom's bid for the coveted Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television was announced on Sunday, at the official nomination party at The Star on the Gold Coast. Gleeson4Gold? The nominations come despite Tom's sudden departure from the hit ABC show, which he said was doing so he could focus solely on his stand-up comedy. In a Tweet sent out on Friday, Tom wrote: 'I've decided to step down as the host of Hard Quiz and discontinue production of the show. He went on to win 'This was not an easy decision to make and I appreciate there are many fans of the show for which I will always be grateful. 'The demands of hosting a show has meant I was unable to spend as much time as I would like to performing stand up. I've loved making Hard Quiz and I will miss it,' he concluded.
