Peter Stefanovic recently announced he will front Sky News' breakfast show First Edition from July 1.
Now, the 37-year-old journalist has announced he will host the network's flagship program alongside political reporter, Laura Jayes.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the former Channel Nine presenter wrote: 'Absolutely thrilled to join Laura Jayes as the new host of Sky News First Edition.

'Laura is one of the best political interviewers in the country and I look forward to working alongside her and the team. I start July 1 and hope you can tune in!'
Peter also referenced his wife and former Today show newsreader, Sylvia Jeffreys' prior experience with early morning starts during her tenure on the Channel Nine breakfast TV show.
'Sylvia Jeffreys has already given me her alarm clock,' Peter concluded.
The A Current Affair reporter was quick to praise her husband's new on-air partner, commenting: 'That's a great team.'

Peter was also flooded with congratulatory messages from some of Australia's most high-profile media stars.
Peter's former Channel Nine colleague, Ben Fordham wrote: 'Well done bro. Good team.'
Another former colleague from Channel Nine, Erin Molan also chimed in, writing: 'So so so proud!!! You will smash it!'
