'I never planned to be on TV at all,' the 48-year-old said during an interview with TV Week on Tuesday.

Jamie explained that he fell into his career in the spotlight 'by accident', but was well prepared thanks to his performing background.
'It was by accident, to be honest. I think my previous background in performance – I spent 10 years on stage and also did some acting work – gave me that ability to perform in front of a crowd,' he said.
