It was reported in 2017 that he had been creating art with a British sculptor to channel his heartbreak over his divorce from Angelina Jolie.

And two years on, Brad Pitt, 55, proved his friendship with his artist pal Thomas Houseago, 47, is still going strong as they stepped out in Venice, Italy on Tuesday. 

The Fight Club actor cut a casual figure in a camel-coloured T-shirt and black chinos as he soaked up the Italian city's sights.

The Oscar-nominated donned a stylish black rain jacket over his over tee and complemented the low-key ensemble with a pair of trainers.

Keeping to his low-key theme, he donned a grey tweed flat cap and shades while he strolled through the city flanked by his pals.

Complementing his friend's relaxed appearance, Thomas donned an all navy look, including a matching flat cap, days after Brad had premiered his new flick, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood in Cannes.

It was reported in 2017 that Thomas had helped Brad channel his heartbreak over his divorce from Angelina Jolie, 43.

The actor was said to have locked himself away in a Los Angeles art studio in March 2017 to create a sculpture under the direction of his friend Thomas.

At the time, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that he had been spending up to 15 hours a day in the studio working until the early hours of the morning and listening to playlists of sad songs.  

Brad is joined by Thomas and his team of assistants but once darkness falls everybody else leaves and he stays behind, making the art space his own.

A source said: 'He spends all night working on his art and listening to emotional songs.
