Love Island 2019 FIRST LOOK: New girls get ready for the first coupling

They're in for a summer of fun and romance in the luxurious surrounds of a Mallorca villa.

And this year's crop of Love Island contestants have already begun their adventure as the first images of the ladies entering the villa have been released.

The girls - Amy Hart, 26, Amber Gill, 21, Yewanda Biala, 23, and Lucie Donlan, 21 - arrived to their swanky new abode by car and were ushered inside where they chatted among themselves whilst taking in their new surroundings.

Clearly excited about what is in store, the ladies looked in high spirits as they got to know each other.

They were soon joined by presenter Caroline Flack, 39, who had them line up in a row to begin the process of pairing up the girls and boys that will be familiar to fans.

Caroline looked glamorous as ever for her first appearance on this year's series, arriving to the villa in a denim mini-skirt that showed off her sun-kissed hue.

Styling her honey blonde locks into loose curls, the former X Factor host completed her look with a pair of shades.

It comes after creative director and executive producer Richard Cowles defended claims that this year's Love Island cast was lacking body diversity by suggesting that producers were only giving audiences what they wanted to watch.

Cowles said the show is as 'representative as possible' but that they have to ensure contestants fancy each other - meaning an all slim and toned line up yet again this year.

Speaking to the Radio Times he said: 'First and foremost, it's an entertainment show and it's about people wanting to watch who you've got on screen falling in love with one another.'

'Yes, we want to be as representative as possible but we also want them to be attracted to one another.

'Also, we're not saying that everyone that's in there is how you're supposed to look.

'We're saying here's a group of people that we want to watch for eight weeks, and we want to watch them fall in love.'

Host Caroline recently spoke out about the show's aftercare process, saying it has become 'greater' after the death of former Love Islander Mike Thalassitis.

She said: 'I think as the show gets bigger, it has to evolve. So, yes, the duty of care has become greater. But this is a wider issue. We should all be looking out for each other more.

'I don’t think you can just turn around and cast blame. It’s dangerous to do that, especially when other people are involved.

A source revealed to The Sun: 'They’ve put in measures to ensure all contestants have enough mental health checks and have a psychologist on call 24 hours a day.

'They’re taking their duty of care very seriously which is why they’ve written the support for families into the contract for the first time.

'Love Island is a fun show. They want to keep it positive.'

MailOnline contacted a representative for Love Island, who said: 'We have always ensured that the families of Islanders have the contact details
