The Voice EXCLUSIVE: Jack Vidgen's dramatic makeover explained

When Jack Vidgen stepped out for his blind audition on Sunday night's episode of The Voice Australia, fans erupted on Twitter with the same reaction.

'What has he done to his face?' one viewer wrote. Another tweeted: 'Poor Jack. His lips look like they hurt. You just gotta know where to stop with the filler babe.'

While Jack has said he wants people to focus on his voice and not his face, it's 'obvious' to Dr. Randal Haworth that the former Australia's Got Talent winner has undergone extensive cosmetic work over the past eight years.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, the Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon said that Jack, 22, has possibly 'succumbed to cosmetic peer pressure'.

'Despite his early fame, Jack seems just as impressionable as many other Generation Z-ers,' he said, after studying before-and-after photos of the young man.

According to Dr Haworth, Jack's apparent fixation with Instagram-inspired millennial beauty trends has backfired and his face now lacks 'aesthetic balance'.

He explained: 'Jack's obviously plumped lips may suit a female countenance but it certainly detracts from his otherwise handsome face.

'His lips now vie attention from his eyes throwing off his aesthetic facial balance. Altogether, a fail.'

But it's not a total disaster, as Dr. Haworth says Jack's facial shape has 'matured from the round one of youth into the more rectangular, chiselled one of a model'.

While this may be due to the changes of puberty, it could also be the result of a cosmetic procedure known as buccal fat pad removal.

This refers to the surgical extraction of an area of cheek fat that subsequently gives the face a slimmer, more sculpted profile.

'Removing his buccal fat pad via hidden incisions in his mouth may certainly have played a part to sculpt his visage and highlight his cheekbones,' said Dr. Haworth.

Jack has denied undergoing any surgical procedures, insisting that's he's only had temporary lip fillers.
