Jack Vidgen made a triumphant return to Australian TV screens on Sunday after a five-year hiatus.
After his powerful audition on The Voice, the 22-year-old said part of the reason for his absence was being 'exposed to things' he shouldn't have, while in Los Angeles.
And in a follow-up interview in Monday's TV Week, the singer spoke in greater detail about the trauma that made him give up his Hollywood dreams.

Following his win on Australia's Got Talent in 2011, Jack relocated to Los Angeles two years later at age 16 in a bid to make it in Hollywood.
Referring to being exposed to the dark side of fame, he told TV Week: 'I was just way too young for what I was going through. I wasn't really handling it too well.
'I was 16, I'd moved over to LA by myself, I was just trying to do my thing and hustle over there.'
