Elizabeth Sobinoff's interview with Today Extra on Wednesday morning was a textbook example of car crash TV.

After the program had teased an exclusive segment about her 'new reality show', things fell apart as soon as she arrived on set.

When asked to spill the beans on her latest project, the former Married At First Sight bride said she had 'no idea' what the hosts were taking about.

Today Extra host Sonia Kruger said at the start of the segment: 'Elizabeth and Cyrell [Paule] are joining forces to star in their own reality TV show!'

David Campbell then added: 'So we've brought Lizzie in to tell us all about it... What is this project with Cyrell?'

Looking visibly confused, Elizabeth responded: 'I don't know. Erm, yeah, I just heard about it and I have no idea... one of my best friends forwarded me a link [to an article about it].

'[The friend] said, "What are you doing?" and I did not know anything about this.'
