Jono Pitman hits back at disgruntled MAFS stars and says Channel Nine's mental health support is 'fantastic' - after Clare Verrall claimed that the show 'ripped her life to shreds' By Daily Mail Australia Reporter Published: 02:41 BST, 5 June 2019 | Updated: 02:49 BST, 5 June 2019 Viewcomments Former Married At First Sight star Clare Verrall recently claimed that Channel Nine failed to provide her with adequate mental health support after the show. But her on-screen husband Jono Pitman tells a much different story, with the former reality TV villain saying that the psychological support he received from Channel Nine was 'fantastic'. 'I used to talk to a [psychologist provided by the network] fortnightly, six months after the show had aired as I was in an extremely dark hole for a while because of my experience,' he told Now to Love on Wednesday. 'Fantastic!' Former Married At First Sight star Jono Pitman has praised Channel Nine's mental health support for ex-reality stars, following allegations to the contrary made by his former TV wife Clare Verrall. 'I used the one they recommended and he was fantastic,' he added. Jono said that he was so impressed by the psychologist that he used him again, just six months ago, while he was going through a rough patch in his personal life. 'I used the one they recommended and he was fantastic!' Jono had nothing but positive things to say about the psychologist he used after filming MAFS While the construction worker only has good things to say about Channel Nine's post-show support, his TV wife Clare has claimed the exact opposite. In a sit-down interview with Channel Seven's Sunday Night last month, Clare said that starring on Married At First Sight 'completely ripped [her life] to shreds' and that she became suicidal after filming the series. 'I was so broken and scared, I wouldn't go outside,' she said of her time filming season two of the show, which aired in 2016. I just didn't get up and... I was having panic attacks. I mean, like, laying on the floor crying. Feeling like you're going to die.' In an interview with Now To Love last month, Jono said he was puzzled by Clare constantly speaking to the media about MAFS. 'It's frustrating because I just can't understand why she just can't get along with her life like everybody else has,' he said.
