David Speers, political editor for Sky News, is set to join the ABC early next year as the new host of Insiders.
As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald on Wednesday, both SKY and the ABC have confirmed the appointment.
David, a two-time Walkley Award winner, will replace outgoing Insiders host Barry Cassidy, 69, who will leave the program on June 9.

Insiders is ABC TV's flagship political discussion program which airs Sundays at 9AM.
News veterans Fran Kelly, 61, and Annabel Crabb, 46, are tipped to share the presenters' chair on Insiders until Speers, 44, takes the role next year.
