Elizabeth Sobinoff shot to fame as the self-assured jewellery store manager who refused to settle for second best on Married At First Sight. 

But the 27-year-old surprised fans by confessing that she's become a shell of her former self in recent months. 

Taking to Instagram Stories on Thursday, the reality TV star wrote to fans: 'Recently I've let a part of myself go, and not in a positive manner. I begun [sic] to let people walk over me in fear of me upsetting them.'

She continued: 'I have always prided myself on behind candidly honest, letting go of negative influences. I do have a tendency to people please even if its not true to myself. That comes from a fear of not letting anyone feel left out.' 

'I worked really hard on standing up for what's right, but in the last few months I've let that go just becoming submissive. It's time for me to take some of my own advice and practice what I worked so hard on previously,' Elizabeth concluded.
