Love Island: Fans plead Tommy to 'put the shovel down' as he flits between ...

Fans of Love Island couldn't contain their horror as Tommy spent Wednesday night's episode flitting between Lucie and Amber and being constantly rejected by both.

The hunky boxer, who recoupled with Lucie in a bombshell twist on Tuesday night, had declared to the surfer while on a date that 'two Beyonces and three Rihannas could walk through that door and my head wouldn't be turned'.

Yet when she seemed to decide her loyalties lay with sulking Joe, Tommy then approached Amber to try and 'graft' her.

Amber, however, wasn't in the mood to play second fiddle to Tommy, who was later seen complaining to Curtis that she is 'hard work'.

He then tried to woo Lucie once more, while Joe seethed out in the garden.

Yet, as entertaining as this was to the viewing public, fans took to Twitter to beg Tommy to 'put the shovel down' and 'stop digging a hole' for himself.

The last episode of the show ended on a cliffhanger, after Tommy decided to pick Lucie as his partner despite her being happily coupled up with Joe.

After Tommy sent shock waves through the villa by announcing that he wanted to pair up with Lucie, Amber can be heard whispering 's***t that's ballsy'.

Anton, who has also been ditched after Curtis chose his partner Amy then reads a text, which says: 'Anton and Joe, you are now single.

'At the end of the week all Islanders will take part in a recoupling. Anyone not picked will be dumped from the island!

Amy then receives this text: 'Amy & Curtis, and Lucie & Tommy. You are going on a double date. Please get ready to leave the villa immediately'

Joe looks furious with the revelation and announces to his fellow islanders, 'It is what it is though. I need a breather', before storming off towards the villa.

Although the other contestants attempt to console him following the bombshell, Sherif recognises that he needs to be by himself and says: '[Leave] him by himself for now!'

Thrown by Tommy's choice and Amy's text, Joe says in the Beach Hut 'I feel like I got snaked out big time', while Tommy and Lucie commence their date under the stars.

During the date, it appears that although Lucie feels her loyalties lie with lovable Joe, she can't help but slightly succumb to Tommy's charming advances.

However Tommy appears to have already completely forgotten about Joe, and says: 'I wanted to go with my heart. I wanted to couple up with you because I believe something was there.'

Lucie confronts him and replies: 'I heard that it was between me and Amber?'

Smooth-talker Tommy says: 'She's a lovely girl but she didn't tickle my heart like you did. I don't know what it is. I get butterflies when I see you.'

Moved by Tommy's admission, Lucie says: 'That's so good. You're good at the words and later she asks 'If two girls walked in tomorrow, what would you think?'

Reaffirming his feelings for Lucie, Tommy says: 'If two Beyoncés and three Rihannas walked in tomorrow, my head wouldn't
