And the 44-year-old couldn't wipe the smile off his face as he went for a stroll around Sydney's affluent suburb of Mosman on Saturday just days after news broke of his surprising comeback.
Karl, who has been keeping a low profile since being sacked as host of the Today show in December last year, looked proud as punch as he paraded down the street.

Karl exuded effortless charm in a trendy sheepskin-trimmed jacket, teamed with a black T-shirt and a pair of blue wash jeans.
He added several cool highlights to his look, including a silver square buckle belt and multicoloured sneakers.
