He was the first casualty of this year's show, having been dumped from the villa after just five days.

But it appears that it's not just Callum Macleod's love life that has taken a hit, but his reality dreams too.

The 28-year-old Welshman quit his high-flying aircraft engineer job in order to sign up to the ITV2 dating show and make it big as a reality star.

And now it appears that Callum will have to go back to the drawing board after being booted from the Mallorcan villa after just five days.

Speaking to The Sun about leaving his top job, he said: 'I had to hand my notice in. I’ve got my trade and my apprenticeship so I would apply elsewhere. It was a really hard decision but you only get one life.

'I applied for a sabbatical but it got rejected in the end, on my section they couldn’t justify the career break.

Callum revealed that he left on 'good terms' and his managing director had told him to 'go for it'.

He added that his 'long-term' plan was to 'go back into the industry', but it remains to be seen which step he will take next.

However, this is the second time Callum's reality dreams have been dashed as he revealed that  he was also shunned from Celebs Go Dating.

The hunk told the publication that he appeared on the last series of the E4 dating show, but failed to bag a date with any of the female celebrities.

He explained: 'I went on Celebs – but I didn’t date anyone.

'I want to the mixer but didn’t get picked. Georgia from Love Island was there, Kerry Katona, it was the most recent one. I was only on actual TV for a second.'
