Nina Dobrev just revealed that she 'despised' her The Vampire Diaries love interest Paul Wesley 'for the first five months' of shooting The CW supernatural soap in 2009.
The Bulgarian-born, Toronto-raised 30-year-old and the New Jersey-born 36-year-old played on/off lovers Elena and Stefan for six seasons until her unceremonious send-off in 2016.
'Paul and I didn't get along at the beginning of the show. I respected Paul Wesley, I didn't like Paul Wesley,' Dobrev admitted on the Directionally Challenged podcast - according to E! News.

'I remember everyone would walk up to me after the show aired and they'd be like, "Are you and Paul dating in real life?" Because everyone thought that we had such good chemistry.'
Nina (born Nikolina Dobreva) continued: '[There's] a fine line between love and hate, and we despised each other so much, that it read as love. We really just didn't get along the first maybe five months of shooting.'
