Wentworth delivered one of its' most violent scenes back in 2017 when inmate 'Juicy' Lucy Gambaro had her tongue forcibly sliced off by Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson.
And just weeks after the Australian prison drama series returned to screens last month, actress Kate Jenkinson, 37, has revealed the show is set to air a 'brutal' and 'terrifying' scene in the seventh (current) season.
Speaking to TV WEEK Close Up on Thursday, Kate, who plays prison inmate Allie Novak in the hit TV series, said: 'There's a sequence in season seven...I won't reveal too much about it, but a lot of it was shot as if it was happening in real life.'
'It looks like real life': Prison drama Wentworth to air a 'brutal' and 'terrifying' fight in season seven - after viewers were horrified by gruesome tongue removal scene
'It was pretty brutal and terrifying. There are some new characters who come in and really shake things up, so that was pretty special to be part of. Many drinks were had after filming on those days,' she added.
The blonde actress explained the gruesome scenes in the multi-award winning drama series are particularly 'tricky' and 'technical' to film.
'But, actually, often those super-brutal scenes are really technical to film, especially if there's blood and gore involved. You have to stop and start often for the make-up team to come in. It's a lot tricker than it looks to put together,' Kate said.
