Love Island proved itself to be a lesson in playground pettiness on Thursday night's episode as new girls Maura and Elma attempted to enjoy dates with some of the boys, only to be relentlessly heckled by Molly-Mae and co from up on the balcony.

And making things even worse, when the original girls were released back downstairs to meet the new ones, they tried to behave as if nothing had happened at all - with Molly-Mae insisting 'we're all really nice' before telling Maura 'we're going to be best friends'.

This came after Maura had enjoyed a meal with Tommy, as well as getting to know Danny and Michael, while their existing flames watched on from the roof.

Maura was seen laughing with Michael at one point, only for the girls to burst into fits of patronising mock-laughter.

Maura then told Michael that it was in fact making her feel uncomfortable - leading the fans calling the women out on their unwelcoming behaviour, slamming them for being 'fake' and acting like school 'bullies'.

'Can't believe how bad the girls acted tonight! They seriously need to grow up. Out of order and so childish. Actually felt sorry for the new girls. Now Mollie Mae has got a taste of her own medicine!!' one person posted to Twitter, during the scenes.
