A dream came true on Thursday evening as self-confessed Spice Girls super-fan Emma Stone finally met the group ahead of their sold out show at London’s Wembley Stadium.

The Hollywood actress looked uncharacteristically star-struck as she posed for a photo with 'Baby Spice' Emma Bunton, shortly before she took to the stage. 

Both looked delighted during what amounted to their first meeting, with the 43-year old singer sporting a distinctive green and white printed minidress.

Meanwhile Emma, 30, looked casual in a cropped denim jacket and skinny white jeans as she posed alongside her idol.  

The Spice Girl later documented her meeting with her A-list fan by sharing two images of the encounter on Instagram with the accompanying caption: 'When Emma met Emma.' 

Just hours later she was back onstage with bandmates Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Horner.

With thousands looking on the singer broke down in tears, prompting supportive hugs from her band-mates. 

Addressing the audience, Geri admitted she was glad to finally be on stage on Wembley after quitting the band shortly before their first Wembley gig in 1998. 

'I was gutted they were doing it without me,' she announced. 'Yet 21-years later we came back and are doing it together with you lot.'

She said: 'Do you know who we’ve got coming? Oh, I hope I’m allowed to say this but Emma Stone is coming tonight and I’ve never met her and we’re going to be meeting her so I’m really excited.'

Host Jamie Theakston shared her excitement, and explained that despite the La La Land star being a 'massive' Hollywood star, 'all she talks about is dressing up as Baby Spice when she was young.'

The Spice Up Your Life songstress replied: 'Her name was Emily but she wanted it to be Emma because she was such a Spice Girl Fan.

'It’s amazing. It’s quite nice. I’m excited!'

Emma, who has been performing across the country on the band's incredible comeback tour, also confirmed their animated movie.

When asked about the film, Emma said: 'We’re really excited about that. We’ve been sitting with some writers now for quite a few months and we’ve had loads of ideas. We’ve just been throwing things at them, they’ve been coming back.'

She continued: 'Can you imagine animation? Doesn’t that take like 20 years to do or something? They better get on with it. Hurry up. Can you just start drawing us?

Jamie asked the singer: 'So what’s it going to be? Is it going to be like a re-imagining of Spiceworld the movie? Was is it going to be?'

The Spice Girls star replied: 'Oh no it’s a whole new story. A whole new story. I’m just really looking forward to see how they draw us, the animations.'

When asked if the band's characters would have superpowers in the movie, Emma revealed it was still in the works but that she would 'like some super powers' and to be 'invisible'.

The Spice Girls animated movie is currently 'in the works' at Paramount with the entire band, including Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, getting involved. 

The animation, which will also feature Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Horner, will involve the band's iconic tunes from the 90s. 

Spice Girls manager, Simon Fuller, will produce the movie with Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith creating the screenplay.
