The actress, who had her golden locks styled smooth around her shoulders, was spotted embracing Asa, who plays her son Otis in the drama, as he arrived in the Wye Valley.
Gillian later changed into a gorgeous green embroidered gown and a matching jade and gold jacket as she looked over her lines before filming a scene.
Ender's Game star Asa, 22, wore brown, straight leg trousers and a white and tan striped shirt, before switching his outfit for light wash jeans and his character's typical white, red and blue jacket.

Also on set at the Norwegian-style chalet, which poses as the home of Jean and Otis in the show, were Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa, who play Otis' friends Eric Effoing and Maeve Wiley.
In one snap, Ncuti, 26, was seen climbing out of a mustard yellow car in extremely colourful, patterned co-ords.
And Emma, 23, was spotted enjoying a bite to eat on set as she got in to character as the sarcastic Maeve in a black lace dress, leather jacket, and chunky ankle boots.

Sex Education follows Otis as he teams up with street smart Maeve to create a sex therapy clinic at their school.
Netflix announced in February that the show would be returning for a further eight episodes.
Alongside Gillian, Asa, Emma and Ncuti, breakout stars Aimee-Lou Wood, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Tanya Reynolds and Patricia Allison are all set to reprise their roles.
