Ed Sheeran dines in a 'super posh restaurant' before covering his meal in ...

It was reported the singer-songwriter had landed a £300,000 advert deal with Heinz last month.

And Ed Sheeran's ode to tomato sauce was finally unveiled on Monday, based on a voice note he once sent to the brand begging them to work with him.

In the clip, the Shape of You hitmaker, 28, heads inside a 'super posh restaurant' while his voice over explains how he came about the idea for his commercial.

He said: 'I got an idea for a Heinz ketchup commercial. I was at this super posh restaurant and the hostess says "Mr Sheeran, let me show you to your table."

'Fast forward, and the food comes. The waiter says "We are proud to present this farm-to-table blah blah blah, posh and fancy, blah blah blah."

But instead of enjoying his fine dining experience, Ed opts to douse his entire meal in Heinz tomato sauce.

He said: 'I just thought there was something missing, and at that point the whole world came to a stop.'

As he pours the sauce on his food, the waiter yells "No!" before walking away with a pained expression. 

Ed has previously branded himself Heinz ketchup's 'biggest fan' and even has a tattoo of the popular condiment on his upper arm.

And the Perfect hitmaker took to Instagram on Monday to mark the occasion, even saying the advert was more noteworthy than a stadium tour.

He wrote: 'Okay guyz, so it actually happened. I sent a voice note to @heinz, and we made a whole TV spot around it. 

'This is pretty much what I was aiming for in life. Ketchup ad stadium tour.'
