He's been in London for the Toy Story 4 European premiere, which took place on Sunday. 

And Tom Hanks had another very important screening on Monday, treating patients at Evelina London Children's Hospital to a special pre-release showing of his new film.

The actor, 62, arrived at the hospital in the capital where he surprised patients and their families with an event at the Medi Cinema on site.

The cinema is one of six in-hospital cinemas run by the MediCinema charity throughout the UK.

To date, Disney have created a number of once in a lifetime activities across MediCinema sites, bringing the power of their stories and characters to help build emotional resilience.

Tom chatted with the children and their families at the event and posed for photos with them before they were treated to the special screening.

His visit comes just one day after he attended the European premiere of Toy Story 4 in Leicester Square on Sunday afternoon. 

The star spoke exclusively to MailOnline on the red carpet about the series' new addition, Keanu Reeves – confessing that while he thought his casting as Duke Caboom was 'the greatest idea ever' he never actually got a chance to hang out with him due to the 'lonely filming process.'

Speaking to MailOnline at the event, Tom said: 'We never get to see each other when he make these movies.
