In past years, the award has gone to musician Akon, model Millen Magese and NBA player Bismack Biyombo.
Bars is known for founding Spartanfam, a fitness program that brings exercise and nutrition to parts of inner-London that lack resources.
In a statement from BET, Bars said: 'This award symbolizes it is time for greater progressions, though if we focus only on struggle, then we will never realize our infinite potential.
'Let us build together like our great ancestors who came before us, not just growing bank accounts and a social media following for the sake of it, but creating futures for our children and humanity on earth.'
