Steve Irwin died on September 4, 2006 while filming a wildlife documentary in Far North Queensland.

And the conservationist's son, 15-year-old Robert, is often reminded of his dad and his legacy on Father's Day.

This year was especially poignant for the young photographer, after a stranger sent him an anonymous note on a plane.

Robert took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a photo of the note, which was written in black ink on a napkin by a woman
