Wentworth fans did not wake up happy on Wednesday, after one of the show's most popular characters was killed off during Tuesday night's episode.
The prison drama series unceremoniously bumped off inmate Kaz Proctor, who is played by actress Tammy MacIntosh, 49.
After being brutally attacked, the beloved character was seen lying in a pool of her own blood, leaving many fans distraught.

Many fans flocked to Twitter and the show's Instagram page to vent their frustration at the direction the hit TV series is taking.
'Broke my f***ing heart,' commented one person, while another wrote, 'So gutted. I loved Kaz.'
Added one fan: 'Your writers love using our hearts as their own personal squeeze toys.'
Others vowed to stop watching the long-running show, which is now in season seven, after losing too many popular characters.
'Not watching anymore u [sic] keep killing off my favourites,' wrote one fan.
Another added: 'You can take it to [sic] far and lose a lot of your viewers! What the hell, you leave the s***s and get rid of to [sic] many of the ones we really like!!'

Other fans claimed they had had enough.
'I am so sad - and so outraged - Kaz Proctor has been amazing for the women and to rip yet another amazing character away - starting to be too much - can't take it anymore,' commented one person.
