Elyse Knowles picks up dog poo during a low-key outing in Byron Bay

She's the glamorous Myer model and former winner of The Block, who's often hailed for her girl-next-door appeal.

And Elyse Knowles proved she's just like the rest of us while picking up dog poo in her new hometown Byron Bay on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old cut a relaxed figure while stepping out makeup-free to walk her dog Harlow at the beach.

Sporting ripped jeans, a beige-coloured bohemian blouse and green Birkenstock sandals, the blonde bombshell nailed hipster chic while chatting to a friend.

Melbourne-born Elyse moved to Byron with her boyfriend, Josh Barker, earlier this year.

She previously revealed their decision to relocate with their dogs Isla and Harlow was an easy one, particularly because 'everyone chooses cardboard over plastic' and people aren't fixated on their phones.

'Lots of people have been asking me why I've made the move to Byron Bay when the industry I work in revolves mainly around Sydney & Melbourne,' the Land Rover Australia ambassador wrote on her blog in April.

'There [sic] a few answers to this question. Firstly, change can bring opportunity, fresh beginnings & a new perspective. It challenges you to go out & meet new people, find new habits and just live your life in a slightly different way. It's refreshing & very liberating.

'Secondly, living in a place where pretty much everyone is consciously aware of their carbon footprint is pure BLISS! People care about more than just their actions. They care deeply about the effect their actions have on other people, species & industries. It's a little green hub!'

The down-to-earth star added that people in Byron Bay aren't as consumed by their phones, writing: 'People's eyes are up & not focused down on their phones as much. They are looking around, taking in the views, smiling & saying hello to the people they pass! Yes, they say HELLO! Who would have thought saying hello was so hard?!'

She went on to urge fans to look after the environment, writing 'People up here pick things up & use the trash cans for what they're there for.'
