On Wednesday, the 38-year-old revealed the truth behind the photos during an appearance on The Weekly with Charlie Pickering. Revealed: Carrie Bickmore opened up about her iconic viral baby photos in an interview on ABC's The Weekly on Wednesday 'When Chris, my partner, took the original photo I was asleep,' she explained. 'I had in my head how it was going to look and then when he showed it to me I was like, "Oh my god, is that what I look like?" I was mortified. I was pale, I was drained, I was exhausted. I had a four-week-old baby, that’s what I should have looked like.' She then had Chris retake the photo to look more flattering, but was disappointed to see that the heart from the original candid image was missing. 'When Chris took the original photo I was asleep': Carrie shared a rather unflattering candid photo of herself sleeping on the couch alongside her newborn Adelaide Posed: After disliking how she looked in the candid shot, Carrie had her partner take the image again to look more flattering (pictured) 'When I looked at it I realised there was not a single bit of the emotion of the original moment, and I think I felt disappointed in myself that I hadn’t liked the first moment because that was me and my newborn baby girl in a moment together,' Carrie explained. Carrie shared a rather unflattering candid photo of herself sleeping on the couch alongside her newborn daughter Adelaide. She contrasted this with a posed picture of herself and her baby girl to demonstrate that photos on social media don't always reflect reality. 'I felt disappointed in myself that I hadn’t liked the first moment': The Project host shared both photos on social media as an 'Instagram vs. reality' moment 'Instagram versus reality,' she wrote in the caption. 'The first picture was taken on a flattering angle, with some props, some casual hand positioning, some clever cropping and a nice little filter added. 'The second was the real moment, captured without my knowledge, a couple of weeks after Adelaide was born before I woke up and suggested we take a nice shot.'
