She's become a favourite in Hollywood, known for starring roles in movies such as Alien: Covenant and Dead Man Down.

But Noomi Rapace couldn't bare to watch herself on the big screen when she landed her first movie role at the age of 20.

Speaking on Thursday's Lorraine, the now-39-year-old said: 'When I was 20 and I saw my first film I was like, "oh my days, I look horrible".

'I had to have a talk with myself. It’s not about beauty, it’s not about vanity, it’s about something way more important.

'That’s how I want to work. I like to go deep into characters and never have my own issues or my own vanity stand in the way of the characters.

'I can gain weight, I can lose weight. I can look more manly, I can look feminine.'
