Recently retired NBA legend Dwyane Wade has explained why he is supporting his 12-year-old son taking part in the Miami Beach Gay Pride parade in April.
'We support each other wide Pride!' the former Miami Heat star wrote in response to Instagram snaps his son Zion shared while at the Pride event with his step-mother Gabrielle Union and older brother Zaire, 17.
Now, some two months later, Wade said it was simply his 'job as a father' to lend support,' in an interview with Variety while attending Cannes Lions with his family in the South of France.

'I don’t really talk about it much because it’s Zion’s story to tell, Wade confessed.
'I think as a family, we should support each other. That's our job. And my job as a father is to facilitate their lives and to support them and be behind them in whatever they want to do.'
