House Rules renovation moves family to tears after rising their Campbelltown ...

House Rules aired one of its most emotional episodes ever on Sunday night.

The Seven renovation show reduced Graeme McPake and partner Mary to tears alongside their children, after rising their Campbelltown home from ashes.

Last November, the family abode in Sydney's western suburbs was gutted by a house fire, with the owners then unable to rebuild it after having no insurance.

After breaking down during a guided tour of the luxury renovation, father-of-four Graeme delivered an emotional speech to everyone on set.

'We're not owed anything in life,' he began, while starting to tear up. 'So for everyone to go out of their way, and do this for us... it means a lot for us and the family.

'It's put us back better than where we were before. For everyone that was involved, thank you very much.'

With a glass railing being the only thing to have survived the fire here, the whole section was completely rebuilt.

Two large plants gave the McPake's a warm welcome as soon as they stepped foot inside, with a perfectly styled wooden unit completing the space.

In the main lounge, which was renovated by Peter and Courtney, a huge flat screen TV was accompanied by neutral furniture and more foliage.

Their efforts certainly impressed the judges, with Wendy Moore saying: 'It's very crisp and clean, which is what the rules called for, but not boring.'

Jamie Durie branded the space 'understated luxury'.

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen went on to praise the couple's work on the balcony, describing it as an 'amateur dramatic set'.

'The intense symmetry of these lamps... this is when the jazz hands dramatic theatre stands out,' he commented.
