Mischa Barton is set to make a comeback, starring on MTV reality reboot The Hills: New Beginnings.

And as she reflected on the height of her fame in an interview with this week's Stellar magazine, The O.C. star said it was a 'dangerous and exiting time'. 

The 33-year-old says that the onslaught of attention that came with her overnight celebrity was 'bizarre' and overwhelming.

'I was definitely at the forefront and I really got the brunt end of the stick,' the actress told the publication. 

The star went on to say: 'It was such a level of fame and it was 24/7 in a very aggressive way that you don't really see anymore'. 

She added: 'I'm not sure most actresses today experience it in the same way... [People are] more aware of what that
